Announcements

The Bodossaki Foundation Board of Trustees announced on May 14th the Foundation's Scientific Prizes for 2019. Associate Professor Stelios Michalopoulos received the distinguished scientific award for his work in the field of Social Sciences.

Stelios MichalopoulosBodossakis, founder of the Bodossaki Foundation, recognized the value and potential of the Greek creative spirit. He made provision for the Foundation to award distinguished academics in recognition of their achievements. In 1993, in accordance with its founder’s wishes, the Bodossaki Foundation, established the biennial “Awards of Scientific Excellence”. With these awards, the Foundation seeks to support the creative work of young Greek scientists up to 40 years of age, to reward their commitment and effort in the advancement of science and honor their moral dedication, as well as contribute to the promotion of exemplary paradigms for society.

The selection of the prizewinners is based on their exceptional achievements in the respective field. A 9-member prize committee of specialists makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees who ultimately select the prizewinners. This year’s winners are invited to attend a ceremony at Zappeion Hall in Athens at the end of June, where the prizes will be delivered by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
