Professor Matthew Pecenco has been appointed as the Orlando Bravo Assistant Professor of Economics as of July 1, 2021. His research interests are in the area of development and labor economics. His recent work, published in the American Economic Review, studies the effect of family members being in jail on the outcomes of children. Other work includes research on the effects of incarceration on mortality and how opportunities in managerial jobs can affect people’s likelihoods of starting new businesses.
