Economics faculty members, Brad Gibbs and Alex Poterack, have been promoted to Senior Lecturer as of July 1, 2023. 

They have both contributed to the economics community in so many important ways. Brad is an entrepreneur and finance expert who has taught in economics since January 2018. During his time at Brown, Brad has taught a range of finance courses with great success. He also received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2020. Brad is  highly sought out as an advisor, both as a concentration advisor and as first-year / sophomore advisor.  He also serves as the department’s financial services career advisor.  Alex  is an economic theorist who has taught in economics since 2017. He has taught an impressive range of courses in the department at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  Alex is a very popular concentration advisor and first-year / sophomore advisor. He has been the Vice Director of Undergraduate Studies since July 2021,  spearheading many of our student outreach efforts.
