Department of Economics

Bobby Pakzad-Hurson Promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure as of July 1, 2026

Economics faculty member Bobby Pakzad-Hurson  has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, effective July 1, 2026. Bobby is a valued colleague and an outstanding researcher and teacher (for this, he was also recently recognized with a Wriston Fellowship).

Bobby's research combines theoretical, econometric, and experimental analyses to examine policy and institutional design questions.  His work frequently highlights how ex-ante intuitions are reversed when considering equilibrium effects, and it suggests how to mitigate unintended policy consequences. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the department and he serves as an advisor to students at various stages of their academic journey. Congratulations Bobby!
