We are excited to announce that Fabrizio Perri will be joining the Economics Department and the Watson School as a Professor of Economics, effective August 15, 2026.

Fabrizio is a leader in international macroeconomics whose work spans the theory and quantitative analysis of international business cycles, sovereign risk, inequality, and other key issues in macro-finance such as returns to capital and financial assets. His research is marked by an unusual combination of theoretical innovation and empirical relevance, and has had direct influence on how policymakers and academics think about financial globalization, risk-sharing, and the macroeconomic consequences of inequality.
