Brown earns high rank from U.S. News & World Report

In new rankings of graduate school programs by U.S. News & World Report, our Department was placed sixth, behind only Harvard, MIT, Yale, UC Berkeley, and Stanford, in the field of Development Economics.

School children in HyderabadThat is one of the Brown Economics Department's best-known areas of strength, with Professor Andrew Foster, a former Chair of the Department and current editor of the Journal of Development Economics, playing a leading role. The Department's stature for Economics as a whole has been reflected in its listing as the #10 ranked U.S. economics department by RePEc, an international collaborative research dissemination project.
