Rafael La Porta, who taught at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University from 2003 to 2016 and in the Harvard Economics Department from 1994 to 2003, has joined Brown's Department of Economics.
La Porta, well known for his research on law and finance, investor protection, corporate governance, and behavioral finance, is now the Robert J. and Nancy D. Carney University Professor of Economics at Brown. He will also serve as the First Faculty Director of the Jonathan M. Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship.
